Volunteer Receptionist 

 

Could you be one of our new Volunteer receptionist?

 

We are looking for volunteers to support our charity based in Kingswood. Kinergy has over 20 years’ experience working with volunteers who support victims/survivors of childhood sexual abuse, sexual abuse and rape. We are based in Kingswood which is on the boarder of Bristol and South Gloucestershire. Our volunteers work together in many different ways to provide counselling, support and raise awareness.

 

 

About Kinergy

 

Kinergy is a specialist counselling service for survivors of sexual violence, sexual abuse and or rape. Together we can make a difference. Take the first step and contact us in confidence today.

 

Kinergy was founded in 1996 and currently offers support through:

- one to one counselling for up to 24 weeks

- group therapy up to 20 weeks

- psycho educational groups

- Coffee morning support group (drop in once a month)

 

We understand how sexual violence, sexual abuse and rape can affect all areas of a clients life. We aim to provide clients with a safe, accepting and supportive environment so that you can come to terms with the past, enjoy the present and look forward to the future.

All our counsellors either have or are in process of getting a professional qualification accredited by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

 

What are they looking for?

 

The role of the receptionist is key to creating a welcoming and positive culture at Kinergy, making the process of arranging appointments, phone calls from clients and agencies and paperwork maintenance as smooth as possible.

Activities will include:

 

• Providing a welcoming reception to clients and counsellors.

• Ensuring that all non -clinical resources are in place for the smooth running of the clinic

• Answering phone calls and emails.

• Taking messages and passing information onto counsellors / staff

• Welcoming and directing visitors to the agency.

Time: We are asking for a commitment of 4 hours per week

 

 

 

Practical Considerations

 

The qualities and skills required for this role are:

 

• Excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate well with service users, project staff and volunteers

• Excellent organisational and administrative skills,

• Punctuality reliability

• Understanding of confidentiality

• Understanding of the needs vulnerable clients who have experienced sexual abuse

• Ability to complete induction training and other essential training

• Ability to use computer programmes such as Outlook & Word

Volunteer Fundraiser

 

Could you be one of our Volunteer Fundraisers?

 

We are looking for volunteers to support our charity based in Kingswood. Kinergy has over 20 years experience working with volunteers who support victims/survivors of childhood sexual abuse, sexual abuse and rape. We are based in Kingswood which is on the boarder of Bristol and South Gloucestershire. Our volunteers work together in many different ways to provide counselling, support and raise awareness.

 

We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated people to help us raise money and awareness within their local communities.

 

What does this role involve?

  • Encouraging local organisations and companies to fundraise on behalf of Kinergy

• Research into charitable trusts and foundations.

• Manage street collections in accordance with local Authority requirements

  • Responsibility for collection tins and ensuring they are regularly collected and exchanged

• Applying for collections at shopping centres, supermarkets and via local councils to obtain licence permits

• Approaching stakeholders/external parties over the phone, with various asks such as marketing material distribution and event donations

  • Liaising with other staff members and develop a funding strategy plan.

• Assisting with the preparation for our awareness-raising, fundraising and seasonal events

 

Time: We are asking for a commitment of 4-6 hours per week

- group therapy up to 20 weeks

- peer support group (drop in once a month)

 

We understand how sexual violence, sexual abuse and rape can affect all areas of a clients life. We aim to provide clients with a safe, accepting and supportive environment so that you can come to terms with the past, enjoy the present and look forward to the future.

All our counsellors either have or are in process of getting a professional qualification accredited by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

 

What are we looking for?

 

You don’t need personal experience of sexual abuse or know someone who has experienced sexual violence but will have good communication skills, happy talking to members of the public and the desire to support the charity and the clients we see.

 

This is an excellent opportunity to develop skills and get involved with your local community. You will gain experience of fundraising along with the opportunity to increase your knowledge of fundraising within the charity sector.

 

• Ability to use computer programmes such as Outlook, Publisher, Word and Excel

• Excellent communication and writing skills

• Good organisation skills and attention to detail

  • Confident and polite telephone manner
  • To be able to work under own initiative, instruction from others and as part of a team

This role is flexible but he minimum we ask from our volunteers is half a day once a week.

 

 

 

 

Practical Considerations

 

 

Full training and induction will be provided

(Reasonable travel expenses can be reimbursed).
